Prenatal Massage Q&A

What is a Prenatal Massage?

Prenatal massage is massage therapy that meets your needs as an expectant mom. Pregnancy changes your center of gravity and puts considerable pressure on your back, legs, feet, and many other parts of your body, so it’s not surprising that many pregnant women experience frequent aches and pains.

Prenatal massage helps ease those aches and pains while providing a nurturing and calming touch for you and your baby as you navigate through your pregnancy.

What Happens During a Prenatal Massage?

Before your prenatal massage, the Inner G Restorative and Holistic Care team helps you relax with comfortable pillows on a lightly heated table. You’ll lie on your side with your belly supported.

They understand that pregnancy can be uncomfortable at times, so they do everything possible to help you feel relaxed, supported, and nurtured during your massage sessions.

Prenatal massage involves gentle techniques and a light touch. The certified massage therapists typically cover many parts of the body, from the head to the back to the ankles and feet.

Before your prenatal massage, you’ll discuss your particular areas of discomfort and goals for the massage with your massage therapist so they know where to concentrate.
